Who doesn’t like soup? In these transitional spring months, fresh soup made with local ingredients can fortify those bones after some outside yard work.

Blount Fine Foods, the U.S. market leader in fresh retail soups, kicked off a special grassroots initiative to ensure its very best premium organic soups are available in our local community by dedicating a special team to work with farm stands, specialty retailers, and independent cafes to promote and sell its flagship Blount Organic brand soups.

“Through five generations, Blount has grown and developed as a company, evolving to become one of the nation’s premier food suppliers,” said company president Todd Blount. “But, we were missing something special: a true, Blount-branded product for our southern New England neighbors, proudly produced here in Fall River, Massachusetts.”

Four classic Blount Organic soups are featured in retail cups at locations throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Four flavors–Broccoli Cheddar, Tomato Bisque, Ancient Grain Minestrone, and Vegetarian Chili–will be available in 16-ounce grab-and- go microwavable cups.

“These Blount Organic soups are USDA organic certified, contain no genetically engineered ingredients, and offer consumers the gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options you should expect to get right from the farm,” added Blount. “While focused locally, here in our backyard, this special initiative is about continuing Blount’s tradition of offering clean, wholesome foods that are delicious and easy to prepare.” Products are made with the finest and freshest ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible, and handcrafted in small batches by a dedicated team.

Fresh soups are available at select local farms and farm stands.

Blount’s retailers for this program will be farm stands, specialty retailers, cafes, and local schools, which will sell the soups alongside other products produced locally. To help raise awareness, the company will also promote the products at events and festivals across southern New England and continue to support our local food system, engaging with the food culture Blount believes makes this area so special.

“Our vision is not only to be the country’s best provider of prepared foods but also to stay connected to our backyard in a special way with special products,” concluded Blount.
