edible South Shore & South Coast is a mission-based, seasonal publication that focuses on local and sustainable food and community-focused businesses.
We are seeking a motivated and qualified Sales Rep. with a passion for local food and the desire to make a difference. This is an independent contractor, commission position. Full-time or part-time, it’s up to you. You may take over several existing accounts, however, new business development is the top priority. Previous experience in print sales is helpful but not necessary.
The Rep. will need to cold call, visit, pursue sales leads, and build and maintain account relationships.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the sale from the initial contact through ad material management. You will help with the initial distribution of the finished magazine to your clients (they love to see you coming!) as well as follow up delivery when necessary. We will do all the billing and collections. In addition to having excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and great follow-through, the ideal candidate will also be a patient listener and self-motivated.
edible South Shore &South Coast covers all of Plymouth and Bristol counties. This position will immerse you in Southeastern Massachusetts’ local food environment. You will learn about our community and build friendships with the growers, chefs, fishers, food artisans, restaurateurs, farmers’ markets managers, and business owners. You will also be involved with events such as farmers’ markets, food festivals, foodie gatherings, and green events; learn about sustainable food, and acquire an understanding of magazine publishing. You will gain great satisfaction knowing you are supporting the locavore movement in a meaningful and substantial way. This is a very unique and outstanding opportunity for the right person.
