Mullaney's Harborside

If you enjoy delicious seafood that’s just stepped fresh off the boat, it’s certainly worth a trip to visit Mullaney’s Fish Market, with convenient locations in Cohasset and the newly completed facility in Scituate Harbor.

“Local seafood is our specialty,” begins Joby Norton, a well-known South Shore fishmonger who shares that the busy markets not only cater to retail customers daily but also wholesales to restaurants and dining facilities throughout Greater Boston.

“We sell lobster and most every type of North Atlantic seafood,” he tells, adding that the “the new Scituate location is not just efficient in producing safe local seafood products, it is also efficient in how it does so.”

The busy entrepreneur adds that every inch of the new Scituate facility was built to reduce the plant’s environmental impact.

“Our refrigeration is located underground to maximize natural insulation and to minimize energy use, as well as using energy-efficient technologies for all our refrigeration,” Norton emphasizes.  “Our rooftop houses a greenscape in repurposed lobster tanks in which we grow herbs and vegetables for our kitchen. The building is designed to utilize natural light and is built and decorated with salvaged and reclaimed items.”

Norton proudly shares that the plant houses a new commercial kitchen that offers an array of seafood products including chowders, bisques, seafood casseroles and other prepared foods.

“We went from 900 square feet to 4500 square feet in our new processing plant,” he tells. “I’m so glad it all worked out.”

Norton added that Mullaney’s was originally established 40 years ago in Scituate and opened its second location in Cohasset 20 years later.

“Come by, get some fish, and understand why we are your ever-evolving, but always trusted, fishmonger since 1980,” he tells.
