Ginger Tea

Here is one of my go-to favorites that I take at the first sign of a cold. Ginger and honey have anti-viral properties.

  • 1-2 pounds of ginger
  • ½ lemon
  • 1 large tablespoon honey
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 6 ounces hot water
  • grated turmeric
  • Black pepper

Juice (or grate on a fi ne setting) 1–2 pounds of ginger. (I don’t have a juicer so I often go to the local juice store and ask them to do this step for me.)

Store in the refrigerator.

Place 2–4 ounces of ginger juice in a mug with the juice of one-half lemon and a large tablespoon of honey.

Add ⅛ teaspoon of cayenne pepper and 6 ounces of hot water.

If I have it on hand, I will also add some grated turmeric and a dash of black pepper.

Drink several cups a day.
